Final Stresscon Precast Piece Erected for Ford Amphitheater
Stresscon Delivers on Promise in support of Timely Opening of Colorado Springs' Premier Outdoor Amphitheater
Denver, CO—07/09/2024—Yesterday, Stresscon, an EnCon Company, proudly completed the installation of its final precast piece at Ford Amphitheater, a highly anticipated luxury concert venue in Colorado Springs. Chosen for their expertise in prestressed/precast concrete, Stresscon has been instrumental in designing, manufacturing, and installing the striking entrance building of this $100,000,000 open-air amphitheater and campus.
A WORLD-CLASS VENUE
In April 2022, Venu, formerly Notes Live dba Venu Holding Corporation (“Venu”), unveiled plans to build a world-class concert destination in Colorado Springs. “Stresscon is proud to be a part of another Colorado Springs landmark,” says Terry Maccagnan, Stresscon’s Project Manager for Ford Amphitheater, referring to the company’s Pikes Peak Summit House project. “Constructing a building that inspires people from all over the world to create memories in our hometown is a career highlight for the Stresscon team.”
Nestled within the foothills below the breathtaking Pikes Peak range, the bowl-shaped site promises unparalleled sunsets and acoustic perfection for an 8,000-person audience. Boasting VIP luxury firepit suites, a five-star restaurant and conference event space, and rooftop bars, the amphitheater sets a new standard for entertainment spaces.
MATERIALS AND INNOVATION
The amphitheater’s grand concourse building is composed of high-end architectural precast concrete walls that support steel framing while serving as lateral elements. The acid etched light buff precast finish is complimented by 2-inch reveals throughout and, notably, a 6-inch color break reveal band transitioning to deep gray near grade-level. Both colors, widely regarded as difficult to precast, were masterfully executed by Stresscon’s skilled manufacturing team. The resulting impressive modern aesthetic is a triumph.
The choice of precast not only enhances the venue’s architectural grandeur but also offers acoustic advantages, critical for maintaining sound integrity within and around the amphitheater.
EFFICIENCY AND EXPERTISE
Stresscon commenced the design of the luxury entry building in February 2024, started manufacturing in April, and erected the 21,000-square-foot structure by early July the same year, overcoming minor delays and last-minute adjustments with unwavering professionalism. Comprised of 138 meticulously crafted precast pieces, the building stands as a testament to Stresscon’s commitment to quality and efficiency in construction.
