EnCon Companies Participates in Environmental Product Declarations

Denver, Colo. (January 20, 2016) – EnCon United Company is pleased to announce the release of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) by the North American precast concrete industry in three key precast concrete categories.  The three EPD’s are now available for Architectural and Insulated Wall Panels, Structural Precast Concrete Products, and Underground Precast Concrete Products.  EnCon Companies’ participation in this industry wide accomplishment will help architects, engineers, building owners, and other industry specifiers better understand how precast/prestressed concrete can be used for environmentally conscious construction.

 

EnCon Companies submitted  detailed reports for Atlanta Structural Concrete, EnCon Colorado, and Stresscon Corporation that followed the precast production process from cradle to grave.  The reporting includes raw material consumption, energy usage, as well as production and manufacturing data.

 

The information gathered followed the industry’s standard Product Category Rules (PCR).  Athena Sustainable Materials Institute then prepared the EPDs based on the submitted information.  The EPDs meet ISO 14025 and ISO 21930 standards, ASTM International’s EPD operator rules, and Product Category Rules for Preparing an Environmental Product Declaration for Precast Concrete (UN CPC 3755).
The North American precast concrete industry is made up of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI), Canadian Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (CPCI), and the National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA).

Chapin Named Tpac President

Phoenix, Ariz. (January 20, 2016) – Dave Chapin, P.E., is named the new President of Tpac during the EnCon Companies acquisition of Phoenix based Tpac from Kiewit Western. As a member of the EnCon group of companies, Chapin will be responsible for leading Tpac and promoting diverse product capabilities to the Southwest region.

 

Chapin brings almost 30 years of management, sales, manufacturing and executive experience to the EnCon team.  He has served with Tpac for 16 years in various roles of precast design and production including Design Engineer, Senior Design Engineer, Project Manager, and General Manager.  In his new role as President, Dave’s responsibilities include driving sales growth and revenue, operations and strategic direction, engineering, and daily operations and management. Additionally, Chapin is responsible for business process initiatives, product development, and overseeing the business development team, technical staff, manufacturing employees and field crews.

 

With his extensive involvement in the precast industry, as well as his management and manufacturing experience, Dave is a welcome addition to the Tpac and EnCon teams.

Shelley Hartnett Joins Stresscon Corporation as Director of Business Development

Denver, Colo. (January 13, 2016) – Shelley Hartnett has joined the EnCon team as Director of Business Development for Stresscon Corporation.  Shelley brings over 20 years of architectural background and extensive construction related business development experience in the Colorado market.  In her role as Director of Business Development, Shelley will create awareness of the many benefits of utilizing precast concrete in all types and sizes of commercial, healthcare, educational, municipal, and residential construction projects across the region.  Her responsibilities include developing and managing new business opportunities, business process initiative, sales, and new market development.  Additionally, while primarily focused on Business Development for Stresscon, she will assist with Business Development initiatives for all EnCon companies along the Front Range.  Shelley will be based out of the Denver office.
As past President of SMPS, Shelley has been involved for many years in the business development and construction industries. She has served on member committees for the Colorado Chapter of Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) and Associated General Contractors of Colorado (AGC), Associated General Contractors of Colorado (AGC/C), Urban Land Institute (ULI), and Colorado Real Estate Women (CREW).
