The People Behind 70 Years of TPAC

Featuring Pattie Beltramo, Estimating Manager

As Tpac marks 70 years of delivering precast and prestressed concrete solutions, the milestone is as much about the people behind our work as it the projects. Pattie Beltramo, Estimating Manager, is one of those people whose career reflects the steady growth, resilience, and expertise that have defined Tpac.

Pattie’s path into the industry didn’t begin with a long-term plan. After high school, Pattie started working in data entry to support her mother, who was an accountant at a precast company. It was a practical decision at the time, but it quickly turned into something more. Surrounded by project data and construction drawings, she became interested in how projects came together and how all the numbers, materials, and plans connected.

That curiosity pulled her toward estimating. While most estimators entered the field through engineering or design, Pattie saw a different way in. She asked for more exposure, more responsibility, and eventually, a chance. When the opportunity finally came, she stepped into the role without a traditional background and learned the work from the ground up.

It wasn’t a gradual transition. Pattie was immediately immersed in the demands of estimating—reading drawings, understanding scope, and working through the details that define a project long before construction begins. She learned by doing, relying on persistence, sharp instincts, and a willingness to ask questions. Over time, that hands-on approach became one of her greatest strengths.

Her early years in estimating also came with challenges that extended beyond the work itself. In an industry that was even more male-dominated than it is today, Pattie often found herself as the only woman in the room. Rather than letting that define her experience, she focused on establishing her role through the quality of her work and her ability to contribute at a high level. When expectations didn’t align with her position, she addressed them directly and moved forward.

That mindset—steady, direct, and focused—has been a constant throughout her career.

After more than a decade building experience at another precast company, Pattie joined Tpac and continued to expand her impact. Today, as Estimating Manager, she plays a critical role in shaping projects at their earliest stages, bringing a detailed understanding of precast systems and a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency. Her work helps set the foundation for successful outcomes, and her knowledge is a trusted resource across teams.

Over the years, she has also witnessed meaningful changes within the industry. Where she was once the only woman at professional gatherings, she now sees more diverse representation across estimating and project management roles. While there is still progress to be made, the shift is clear, and it reflects a broader evolution in construction.

Pattie’s career is a reminder that there is no single path into this industry. Her experience was built through curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to take on new challenges without waiting for a perfect roadmap. She developed her expertise through hands-on work, grew by asking for opportunities, and advanced by consistently delivering results.

As Tpac celebrates this 70-year milestone, stories like Pattie’s highlight the people behind the company’s success. Her journey—from an entry-level role to a leadership position—mirrors the kind of steady progress and long-term commitment that have shaped Tpac’s legacy.
